Can I Legally Sell Canva Templates?
Quick Answer
It depends on where the template came from. Templates pulled straight from Canva's own template tab (designed by Canva creators) can't be resold. Canva and those creators hold the copyright. You can use them for your own social media, blog, or website content, but not flip them for profit.
Templates built from scratch inside Canva are different. If someone designs an original template (not starting from an existing Canva layout) and explicitly grants you the right to resell it, then you may be able to legally sell it too. Always read the specific PLR, MRR, or resale license carefully, these terms don't all mean the same thing, and the exact rights and restrictions (like whether you can pass resale rights to your own customers) can vary a lot from one license to the next.
Be cautious with $1–2 mega-bundles claiming "millions of templates included." There's often no way to verify who made them or whether the seller actually holds resale rights. Stick to legit creators who design their own templates from scratch.
